Elite Tents are currently recruiting for senior team members to join our successful tipi building teams. Elite Tents is one of the leading and fastest growing tipi hire companies in the UK and is based in the Midlands. We hire out large linkable tipi structures and clear sided sailcloth tents, mainly for weddings and private parties, but also for some festivals and corporate events. Most of our events are in the Midlands area, though we do at times travel further afield.
You would be working on rental jobs, both erecting and dismantling our Tipi and Sailcloth tents and as senior crew would need to take initiative and to help with shaping and leading the team. You would also be involved in the loading of vehicles, travelling to site, erecting, and then later dismantling our amazing tents, furnishing them and finally carrying out cleaning and maintenance tasks at the warehouse.
We have built up an excellent reputation for customer care and all crew are expected to work hard and take a pride in what they do. That said, while the work is hard, it is very satisfying as we are outside, in the fresh air and very often in some beautiful areas of the countryside. We expect the best of our staff to deliver the fantastic service that we’re famous for.
No room for stragglers or bad attitudes here!
You’ll have the following skills, experience and personality:

– If you’re good with your hands, and are “hands on”. Most tradespeople fall under this category!!

– Be completely reliable. 100% of the time.
– You would get a real buzz from seeing happy customers; in this case, your role is creating wonderful marquees for birthday parties, weddings, anniversaries and other family & corporate events.

We think interviews are dull, boring and both parties really do not gain anything from it. Our interview process is slightly unique.
If we think from your cover letter and previous work experience you could have the potential to join our team – we will invite you for a paid trial day with us.
It gives you the opportunity to meet our team and will also give you a glimpse of what it would be like working for us without taking a blind leap leaving your current job with no idea what working here will be like.
Your hours would be 40-50 hours per week in peak season (which runs from mid-April to end of September) and approximately 30 hours during the low season. There would be occasional weekend work. Our days start early and can be long (sometimes up to 12 hours) so the job is not suitable for people who want a normal 9-5 type of job. However, if you’re willing to work the hours, we will reward you with a satisfying job working as part of a close knit, fun team of people.
Salary & benefits:
This post will be a fixed term contract initially with a probationary period of one month, but we are looking to appoint someone who could join our team permanently.
There will be a one weeks’ notice period should you wish to leave during the first month and a 6 weeks’ notice once in the full contract.
28 days holiday pro-rata (we use the gov.co.uk site to calculate this)
£23,400– £26,325 (pro-rata) dependent on experience
