Elite Tents Charity Autumn Tipi Party 2017 – What A Success!
On Saturday 27th October, Elite Tents held their first Autumn Tipi Party all in aid of local charity St Giles Hospice. Held at W.M Wheat and Son Garden Centre, in Aldridge, the event was open to friends, family, customers and the general public – many of whom had come to the garden centre for a quiet wander round!
Elite Tents called on their friends from the wedding and events industry to help in any way they could. We begged for prizes, borrowed sound equipment and recruited friends to feed and entertain the paying customers!
The event was a great success and raised £1758.12 for St Giles Hospice!
The Charity
St Giles Hospice provides a wonderful service to the community and helps to make ‘Life Matter’ for those who are poorly, whilst supporting their family and friends too.
Philippa Graty, Business Development Manager at St Giles came and joined in the fun, she brought her family down and even pitched in and ran the carpark for us! Les, a Lottery Representative ran the St Giles lotto stand on the day and he had a really successful day….he also loved the tipis!
The Food and Drink
Our fabulous friends at Rustic Roast Kitchen and Ready to Roast kept everyone fed, the lovely Little Gin Company kept the Gin Cocktails flowing and the brilliant Fine Food Matters had their own Elite Tents tipi complete with a full bar and a crepe station!
Not only did they all provide their services for free, but they donated all of their profits from the day to the charity pot and they all donated gifts to our prize wall too!
The Music
First on the mic was the former Britain’s Got Talent contestant Connie Talbot, her beautiful voice caught the attention of many of our guests and set the scene for a great day.
Local band The Attics played next, with a mixture of covers and original songs they brought a mini festival vibe to the tipis.
Friends of Elite Tents, Richard Newman and Friends were up next with their folk inspired covers which put a smile on everyone’s face.
The final band of the day were HotRox. The lead singer Melissa Romeo has actually booked her wedding with Elite Tents and we were really excited when the band agreed to play at the Charity event. They closed the party and even Mickey and Minnie turned up to have a dance.
Fun and Games for All Ages
A big part of the day was the Elite Tents prize board. 800 tickets were available to choose from, some were blank and some had just a chocolate bar….but if you were one of the lucky ones there were some amazing prizes available to win; Land Rover Experience to meet Father Christmas, Weekend hire of a hot tub, Weekend glamping for a family of four and a meal for two at Bistro Pierre just to name a few. Cannock based Blossom Buddies spent the day entertaining the little ones with face painting, festival glitter, a bouncy castle and candy floss. Minnie and Mickey Mouse danced along to the music with the youngest visitor and they really helped bring the family vibe to the event.
Thank you to everyone who took part, donated prizes and attended on the day, St Giles Hospice are very grateful for the money we raised. It will go a little way to helping them continue their day to day work and Elite Tents are thankful for being given the opportunity to “give something back”.
